In short: With company bike leasing, your employer leases the Simply.Lift EP6 for you through a leasing company and makes it available to you for private and professional use. The monthly payment is directly converted from your gross salary, saving you taxes and social security contributions.
As a result, you pay from approximately €65 net per month for the Simply.Lift EP6 – and save up to 40% compared to a direct purchase (€3,890). After a typical term of 36 months, you can purchase the bike at a reduced residual value, return it, or lease a new one.
What exactly is company bike leasing?
Company bike leasing is a tax-advantaged model where your employer provides you with a bicycle or e-bike as a company asset – comparable to a company car. Three parties are involved: you as the employee, your employer, and a leasing company like JobRad, BusinessBike, or Bikeleasing.
The process is simple: The leasing company purchases the Simply.Lift EP6 and leases it to your employer. Your employer, in turn, makes the bike available to you for free use – for commuting, family outings, weekly shopping, or weekend trips. The leasing rates are directly converted from your gross salary, leading to significant tax savings.
How much can I save with leasing?
The savings result from three factors: salary conversion, the 0.25% rule, and the elimination of social security contributions on the converted amount.
The 0.25% rule is the most important tax advantage. While other non-cash benefits are taxed at 1% of the list price, only a quarter of that applies to company bikes. For the Simply.Lift EP6 (list price €3,890), this means you only pay tax on about €9.73 per month as a non-cash benefit – instead of €38.90.
Specific example calculations (non-binding, depending on gross salary, tax class, and chosen leasing provider):
- Gross salary €3,500, tax class 1 → approx. €82/month net, savings approx. €1,350 over 36 months
- Gross salary €5,000, tax class 3 → approx. €71/month net, savings approx. €1,580 over 36 months
- Gross salary €4,500, tax class 4 → approx. €78/month net, savings approx. €1,420 over 36 months
The actual rate also depends on whether you add extra services like insurance or inspection packages – many leasing companies offer comprehensive worry-free packages.

Why is the Simply.Lift EP6 ideal for leasing?
The Simply.Lift EP6 is particularly well-suited for company bike leasing because it optimally fulfills several requirements:
One bike for all areas of life. Whether it's commuting, kindergarten runs, weekly shopping, or weekend tours – the Simply.Lift EP6 often replaces a second car in family everyday life. This versatility justifies the investment over the 36-month term and makes the bike a daily companion.
Premium components without a premium price. The Shimano EP6 mid-drive motor (85 Nm), hydraulic Shimano brakes, the maintenance-free Optibelt carbon belt, and the Shimano Nexus hub gear are components often found in other cargo bikes only in the €5,000–€7,000 price range. With the Simply.Lift EP6, you get this quality for €3,890 – an ideal price-performance ratio for leasing.
Low follow-up costs. The carbon belt and hub gear reduce maintenance costs to a minimum. This is particularly important for leasing, as most providers charge for inspections optionally or as a flat rate.
Handcrafted in Hamburg. The Simply.Lift EP6 is hand-assembled in our Hamburg factory – European frames, German and Japanese brand components, 100% renewable energy in production. Not Asian mass-produced goods, but a bike with documented origin.
Light and suitable for everyday use. At just 28 kg, the Simply.Lift EP6 is one of the lightest fully equipped longtail e-cargo bikes on the market. This not only makes it dynamically superior but also practical: it fits in any elevator, hangs on any bike rack, and can even be carried up stairs.
How much do I actually save if I lease the Simply.Lift EP6 instead of buying it?
A direct purchase costs a one-time payment of €3,890. With leasing, depending on your personal situation, you pay between €65 and €95 net per month. Over 36 months, this results in a total cost of approximately €2,340 to €3,420 – which is €470 to €1,550 less than a direct purchase.
In addition, there are other advantages: Insurance against theft and damage is included in most leasing packages. Inspections can be added as a service package. And you don't have to bear a high one-time payment – this protects your budget and allows you to switch from car to bike faster.
At the end of the 36-month term, you have three options: You can purchase the bike at its residual value (usually about 18% of the original purchase price, i.e., around €700), return it, or lease a new one. Most of our customers choose to purchase it – then your Simply.Lift finally belongs to you.
4 steps to leasing the Simply.Lift EP6
1. Check requirements. Check if your employer offers company bike leasing. If not yet available: Create a user account in your leasing provider's portal. If you have questions, your HR department can help you.
2. Submit a leasing request. On our leasing page, you can request your non-binding offer in 3 minutes. You choose your desired accessories (child seats, baskets, transport boxes), name your leasing provider, and leave your contact details.
3. Confirm offer. We will create your personal leasing offer within 24 hours and make it available directly in your portal with the leasing provider. You check it there, confirm with one click, and submit the order request. Your employer then approves the order.
4. Delivery and handover. After approval, we manufacture your Simply.Lift EP6 in Hamburg and deliver it to your doorstep by freight forwarder in 5–6 business days. The freight forwarder will contact you to arrange an appointment.
What happens if I change jobs during the leasing period?
A job change doesn't have to be a problem. Usually, there are three options: Your new employer takes over the existing leasing contract, you purchase the bike prematurely, or the contract is terminated against a final payment. The exact conditions are regulated individually by each leasing company – it's best to clarify this directly with your provider as soon as a change is imminent.
Can I also lease the Simply.Lift EP6 as a self-employed person?
Yes. As a self-employed person, you can also lease the Simply.Lift EP6 directly through a leasing provider – without an employer in between. You deduct the leasing rates as business expenses, and you use the bike for both business and private purposes. Private use is taxed according to the favorable 0.25% rule. The leasing company will check your creditworthiness in advance. Talk briefly to your tax advisor about the individual advantages before signing the contract.
When is direct purchase more sensible than leasing?
Leasing does not suit every life situation. We recommend direct purchase for: trainees, employees in their probationary period, temporary workers, mini or midi jobbers, people on minimum wage, or people who plan to retire within three years, take a longer parental leave, or a sabbatical. In these cases, the predictability over 36 months is too uncertain, or the tax advantages do not fully apply.
For all others – employees in stable employment, self-employed with a stable income, families with clear mobility planning – leasing is almost always the economically better option.
Conclusion: Leasing is the cheapest way to get the Simply.Lift EP6
Company bike leasing makes the Simply.Lift EP6 an investment that pays for itself for many households after just a few months – especially if the bike replaces car journeys. At €65–€90 net per month, including insurance cover and no upfront payment, it is by far the most accessible way to get a high-quality, handcrafted e-cargo bike from Hamburg.
