Frame, brakes, suspension fork, payload, and dimensions are identical for both bikes; both are built in Hamburg. The difference lies in the drive system: The URBAN features a Bafang rear hub motor (50 Nm) and a 2-speed automatic transmission that shifts on its own, while the EP6 comes with a Shimano EP6 mid-drive motor (85 Nm), a 5-speed hub gear, and a maintenance-free carbon belt. The URBAN is therefore particularly easy to ride and more attractively priced, while the EP6 offers more torque and a lower-maintenance belt drive. Which bike is a better fit depends on how and where you ride.
Honestly, the EP6 is our higher-quality model. With more torque and the maintenance-free carbon belt, it particularly shines on inclines and longer routes. However, in typical city use, you will experience very similar riding dynamics: the URBAN's rear hub motor provides smooth and quiet assistance, and the 2-speed automatic transmission makes riding even simpler because you don't have to worry about shifting at all. The URBAN is deliberately designed to be just right for flat, urban terrain. Those who regularly ride in the mountains or carry a lot of luggage over long distances are better off with the EP6.
